about us

Who we are

We are a family of digital nomads, who are passionate about traveling, personal development, healthy lifestyle and contributing to make a difference in the world.
Outdoor sports and volunteering brings us joy while the freedom and new adventures feed our souls.
We have been traveling around the world for the past 2.5 years, living in each country for 1-5 months while working and studying online.

our story

In April 2022 we put our house for rent, sold or donated most of our things, and set out for a new life of adventure and self discovery.
But our nomadic journey started gradually long before that. We had a dream board with pictures of all the places we wanted to visit in our kitchen for years. I often looked at it with longing, dreaming that one day I’ll be able to travel with my boys, show them the world.
For years I tried to look for ways to make a second income, a passive income that would allow us to travel, to have more free time and freedom. I tried many things and juggled different part time online gigs as a freelancer while still keeping my day job. When the pandemic started, I let go of my day job, switched to working online full time and the boys transferred from local public school to American online school. Then, once the borders opened up again after almost 2 years, we rented our home, bought one way flight tickets to Greece and flew towards our nomadic life.
Since then we’ve been traveling, while working and studying online, living in Greece, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Bali and Vietnam. We celebrated our 1st anniversary of nomadic life with a trip to Singapore and currently plan our next destinations: China, Hong Kong and Japan.

Why did we become nomads?

Well, there were our travel dreams and list of places the 3 of us wanted to see for years but that’s not all.
Our desire for more freedom and flexibility in life was getting stronger by every tough year living according to the demands of the system. The 9 years in survival mode, constant rush, work and homework overloads, almost no time to play, or money for adventures after the bills were paid made me look for ways to get out of the rat race, to find a better way to live.

I knew I wanted to have more quality time with my kids, more fun, play, adventures, good times, more time to rest, to work out, do yoga, visit new places, travel, make memories with my boys while they were still kids and before they would go off to create their own independent lives.

But I also wanted to have the freedom to choose how I spend my days, when I work and when I chill at the beach. I wanted to have more control over my own life and for the boys to be able to choose what they want to do too, rather than continue living our lives based on demands and expectations placed on us, according to what we ‘should be’ doing, or what is accepted in the society.

So we left the conventional life behind gradually. I loved the newfound freedom that working online from home gave me. And once the boys transferred to online school and tasted the joy of having more free time and flexibility in their lives too, there was no way back to the lifestyle of stress, pressure and rush we had before.
I was still trying to figure out how could we afford to travel when the idea of renting our house for passive income came to me and our travel dreams became our travel plans. We flew towards a life of adventure and exploring and it has been the best decision ever!
Not a day goes by without us being grateful for the lifestyle we have now and for all the amazing adventures we had. We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to be able to travel around the world and love our nomadic lifestyle. It has been an adventure of our lives!

Barbora

I am the main writer and photographer for this blog and the creator of this website. I also work as freelance translator of books and movie subtitles specializing in personal development and self growth.
Before Ryan and Aiden were born, I used to fly for Emirates Airline and work mainly in tourism & hospitality industry in UAE, France, Italy, England, USA, Spain and Australia.
After I became a single mom I juggled multiple jobs that had little to do with my passions or interests for 9 years just to pay bills while raising 2 boys. The struggle of this era however led me to deep dive into personal growth and eventually to our nomadic way of life.
Today I travel around the world with my boys and I love sharing my passion for travel & adventure, personal development and contributing to make a difference with you. I hope I can inspire and empower you to go after your dreams too. If I could do it, anyone can.

Ryan

Ryan is an enthusiastic traveler, surfer & nomad with creative and sensitive soul. Ryan was 13 when we rented our house and left for adventure around the world. He celebrated his 14th birthday in Thailand, 15th in Malaysia and 16th birthday in Vietnam.
It has been amazing to witness his mind and perspective of the world expand since we started our nomadic journey. He learned to surf in Bali, ziplined into blue lagoons in Laos, took care of elephants in Thailand, released baby turtles in Indonesia, canoed down the river full of crocodiles in Nepal…
When he is not exploring the world, Ryan loves to read books, animate, work out in the gym or to play chess.
Recently turned 16, he is becoming a young man so fast and I am so grateful for all the wonderful adventures we had a chance to experience together.

aiden

Aiden is the master chef of the family, born explorer and our dynamic sunshine. He is a proud nomad, loves to talk to other travelers, tell them about our nomadic journey and exchange travel tips. Aiden was 11 when we left home, he celebrated his 12th birthday in Nepal, 13th birthday in Bali, and his 14th birthday in Vietnam.
Passionate about cooking and baking, Aiden took a Balinese cooking class to learn how to cook Indonesian food. He plans to start his own YouTube cooking channel and become a professional chef. When he’s not exploring or cooking he loves doing back flips into the pool.
It has been incredible to watch Aiden’s mind expand with each new experience he had… rafting in Nepal, swimming with whale sharks in Philippines, playing with local kids in Cambodia, snorkeling with turtles in Thailand, tubing in a cave in Laos or climbing a volcano in Bali…
Aiden cares about the environment deeply and is very grateful for things we used to take for granted.
